Pre-school

Nearly 60 children attend the African Medical Mission’s Itipini preschool each weekday. Staffed by women from the community, the school provides children with a head start to increase their chance of success in school, as well as giving employment opportunities to local residents.

With generous help from supporters, the African Medical Mission was able to build a two-room structure for the school, allowing more students to attend, and giving teachers the space to divide the students into two age groups for more effective instruction.

Pre-school children get a hot meal each morning and take a piece of bread and peanut butter home with them each day.

A graduation ceremony is held before the students enroll in the local public school, letting the kids start off with a sense of accomplishment.
